Dakota's First Blog
Hello readers, my name is Dakota and here I will be posting all about my journey throughout my art class experiences. My blog is completely motivated by the art class that I am taking that will go towards my educational goal of obtaining a Bachelor's degree. Currently, I am a full-time student working towards my Bachelor's of Art in Social Work all while working full-time in a Residential facility taking care of children. My current interests are collecting (or thrifting) baby clothing and selecting themes (such as Pixar, Dr Seuss, Harry Potter, etc.,) and decorating to use for fun events like birthday parties or classrooms.
I have always been fascinated by the art of photography. Although, I am not a creative drawing or painting artist, I do love trying to practice or attend free follow along art classes. I enjoy watching the talent of others and how they are able to create great pieces whether it was free style or recreating another piece by someone they were inspired by. There is a local museum that my family and I enjoy going to that allows us not only to bond but to learn educationally about the history of art and how it has grown generationally.
A website that I plan on learning more about art:
I love this for you
ReplyDeleteI have such fond memories of going to museums with my mom. The painting you featured has a very strange vibe. There are so many aspects of this work that would be fun to discuss in the next blog post - should you choose to do that.
ReplyDeleteIt's great you have a local museum that you can visit! I visited some exhibits with friends when I lived in Japan but because I was the only painter in the group, no one understood why I was so obsessed with the complexity of the brushstrokes. Last summer my friend in San Diego took me to some free museums and since we both paint that was a great experience and I was able to discuss the art more than explain it. And drawing is a skill just like anything else! If you enjoy it, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteHello Dakota! I love the aesthetic in your blog, it looks really cool! I think the work of art you attached is quite eerie. I'm not sure what it's trying to portray but it would be really interesting to know the meaning behind this painting and what purpose the artist had for it!
